ADOPT A BARREL

Did you miss last harvest and want to catch up? Each year, Crushpad makes extra barrels specifically to be adopted (it's like a puppy mill without all the bad karma). 2007 was a phenomenal year (it will live up to its hype) and we've done the initial work of fermentation. But there is still work to be done in aging, tasting, blending, label design and bottling. You'll still get a big piece of the experience and you'll get your wine a year earlier than waiting until next harvest. (See full details of adopting a barrel.)

Our "orphan" barrels are looking for caring owners to sponsor them as they mature from babes into full grown wines. At $5,000 to $9,600 per barrel ($17 to $32 per bottle) it's a lot cheaper than raising another kid - and they don't talk back to you! If you don't see exactly what you're looking for, we're always up for blending (try that with a couple of kids). Contact us for more information.

Here's what's available from 2007:

Varietal   Region   Description
Cabernet Sauvignon   Napa Valley, Red Mountain, Sonoma   Inky black and dense Cabernet Sauvignon – a vintage to remember
Syrah   Santa Barbara, Mendocino, Carneros   Complex, cool climate Syrah from some of California's top Syrah vineyards
Zinfandel   Howell Mountain   Huge raspberry, pepper with excellent structure
Grenache   Mendocino   Dark, spicy strawberry; blend with Syrah for more structure
Merlot   Napa Valley, Mendocino   Dark cherry, velvety tannins and large-scaled Merlot
Viognier   Russian River, Anderson Valley, Santa Barbara   Stone fruits, flowers, excellent acidity for earlier drinking
Marsanne & Roussanne   Russian River   Blend and age your own Rhone white from two great varietals
